Joy Continues to do Research on the Life of Pastoralists in Kenya and Tanzania
Joy Kakenya Barta continues her research on the life of pastoralists in Kenya and Tanzania including their way of life and culture. In this photograph, she is visiting the Samburus who keep cattle, goats and sheep. They are not able to farm because the place is too dry, and they depend heavily on relief foods.
When asked why she does this work, “Charity begins at home, and I want to know more about my people.”
